How to upgrade SuperX in your Anundoram Borooah Award Scheme 2018 laptop

Anundoram Borooah Award Scheme is a programme of Government of Assam that awards meritorious students with a laptop computer. The laptop shipped in 2018 comes pre-installed with SuperX 5.0, however it has many customisation and applications pre-installed unlike generic SuperX and hence to update the system for the first time the following method is recommended. After the first update users can update the system graphically or via command-line as mentioned here.

Open the Terminal

Click on the SuperX Menu

Open the Terminal by going to System category in the SuperX Menu as shown below:

Running the Commands

Note: You need an active Internet connection to perform the following operations. This operation requires lot of data, if you are on a metered connection, please ensure you have at least 1.5 GB of data available.

Type in (or copy paste) the following and press enter:

sudo apt update -y ; sudo apt install arbas18-laptop-update

Run the updater using the following command:

sudo arbas18-laptop-update

Finally restart your computer using the following command:

sudo reboot
